BAHAWALNAGAR Aug. 18 (TNS): A 200-foot wide breach in Hakra Canal in Bara Sajwar Khan area near Bahawalnagar has flooded several villages and destroyed crops on hundreds of acres of agricultural land.
Residents of the area started rescue work on self-help basis and are trying to plug the breach as irrigation department personnel failed to reach the spot.
On the other hand, a police team reached the site of the breach and participated in rescue operation.
