LAHORE, Aug 23 (TNS):  Renowned anchorperson Gharida Farooqi has settled the matter with a woman who had approached a Lahore police station claiming that her daughter is being kept in illegal detention at the anchorperson’s house.

The girl, Amna Zafar, was recovered by police after her mother approached law enforcers claiming that her daughter has been imprisoned in the anchorperson’s house.

The girl’s mother Naseem Bibi, in her request to Sunder police station, had maintained that her daughter was working in Gharida’s house for last two months and was then fired.

“Upon demanding her two-month salary, she told us that she is not firing the girl and we should keep her at Gharida’s house. For two days, we were able to contact her but for last three days, she was barred from contacting us, then we recovered Amna through police,” reads her FIR application.

The girl, Amna Zafar told that she was forced to live locked in a room with no food and was once also beaten by Ms Farooqi in the three day of illegal detention.

But a late night report said Gharida has paid a sum of Rs45, 000 to settle the matter. Nasima said she is now not pursuing the case against the anchorperson.
