ISLAMABAD Sept 22 (TNS):  Islamabad High Court on Friday threw out a petition seeking disqualification of Pakistan Tehrek-e-Insaf’s dissident Member of National Assembly Ayesha Gulalai.

A single member bench of IHC headed by Jsutice Amir Faroop heard a petition seeking court order to de-notify PTI disgruntled MNA Ayesha Gulalai.

Petitioner Kulsoom Khaliq Advocate argued before the court that Gulalai leveled baseless allegations against chairman PTI Imran Khan on the floor of the assembly without taking any legal action.

Arguing that Gulalai is not competent to hold the National Assembly seat under the People’s Representation Act because she insulted the peoples mandate, the petitioner pleaded the court to declare her disqualified and direct ECP to vacate the seat.
