ISLAMABAD Sept 27 (TNS):  Awami Mulsim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed on Wednesday said it is unfortunate that a sitting finance minister has been on trial for accumulating assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Rasheed slammed Finance Minister Ishaq Dar for not resigning in the aftermath of a National Accountability Bureau (NAB) reference against him, saying that it is a matter of shame that he is still holding office.

What else could be more humiliating for democracy than a minister sticking to his office despite facing a graft case, he questioned and added that he was ashamed to see such derision of the country.

Earlier, the AML chief had demanded of the authorities concerned to place the names of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his brother Shahbaz Sharif and members of their family on the ECL.

Sharif and his children – Hussain, Hassan, Maryam Nawaz and her husband retired Capt Safdar are facing NAB references with regard to corruption and money-laundering.
