CJP takes notice of Hindu community’s land acquired by Sindh govt

ISLAMABAD, Sept 27 (TNS): Taking notice of land acquisition by the Sindh government in 2008 of Hindu community, Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has directed Chief Secretary, government of Sindh for an early action and to submit a detailed report within two weeks.

The CJP has taken notice of acquisition of land of cremation ground of Hindu community at Karachi. The notice was taken on an application of Ram Nath Maharaj belonging to Hindu community stating therein that Government of Sindh acquired land of Cremation of Hindu Community for construction of Lyari Express in the year 2008.

In lieu of that neither alternative land has yet been allotted to Hindu Community nor any compensation is awarded, despite laps of 9 years, while, Hindu Community is facing difficulties due to non-availability of Cremation ground.
