Muzaffargarh, Oct. 22 (TNS): Controversial lawmaker Jamshed Dasti’s brother and two others have been arrested by local police stealing smuggling of wood.

According to media reports, the MNA’s elder brother Mustaq Dasti and his two accomplices were illegally cutting off trees when a forest guard informed the Civil Lines police who immediately arrived at the scene and caught the suspects red-handed.

The police also claimed to have seized the timber from the possession of the accused.

Later, a large number of residents gathered outside the Civil Lines Police Station to protest against the arrest of the lawmaker’s brother.

However, police said a case has been registered against the suspects, who are wanted in several other cases, for stealing government-owned timber.
