Second phase of physical verification of services vehicles and generators going on in KMC

KARACHI Oct 25 (TNS):  Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar said physical verification of the KMC vehicles was aimed at correcting all irregularities in the issuance of petrol quota to these vehicles and to prepare a complete database of KMC vehicles.

Henceforth no out of order vehicle will be issued with petrol quota and only such vehicles and generators will be provided with fuels which are used accordingly in different departments of KMC.

He said the officers especially heads of departments must now correct their ways as we are already facing shortfall of funds and no one will be allowed to utilize government resources unnecessarily.

Meanwhile on the directive of the Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar, the committee for verification of KMC vehicles has already begun the second phase of the physical verification process of the KMC vehicles during which all services vehicles and generators used in various KMC departments are being verified.

On the first day 15 out of 17 services vehicles of city warden department were verified whereas two vehicles were presently under repair in the workshop. In the first phase which completed on 22nd September vehicles used by KMC officers were physically verified by the committee at the Vehicle department’s office.

The second phase of verification of vehicles and generators which began on 17th October will continue up to 30th October 2017 during which all services vehicles and generators used in the Municipal Services, Parks and Horticulture, Medical and Health Services, Works and Services, Land Anti Encroachments, CS&R, Store and Procurement, Printing Press, City Warden and Veterinary Services department will be verified physically at the office of the Vehicle department of KMC at KMC Sports Complex, Kashmir Road.

Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar has also directed the committee for physical verification of KMC vehicles to finish its work as soon as possible and ensure issuance of petrol and diesel quota to only those vehicles and generators which are being used in KMC in accordance with the rules and regulations.
