Int’l institutions acknowledge speedy sustainable development in Pakistan: Shahbaz

LAHORE: Nov 5 (TNS): Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that continuity of economic policies is a prerequisite for Pakistan to become a major economic power in the region.

Talking to a delegation of PML-N in Lahore on Sunday, he said PML-N has always done politics of principles and its political approach is based on progress of the country and prosperity of its people.

He said that international institutions have openly acknowledged speedy progress and sustainable development in Pakistan.

The Chief Minister said that during next general polls 2018, people will again let the politics of service, honesty and trust to succeed.

Earlier Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif returned home from London on Sunday morning.

The chief minister had flown to London on Oct 29 to inquire after the health of his sister-in-law Begum Kulsoom Nawaz and meet his elder brother Nawaz Sharif who earlier this week returned to Pakistan to face trial in corruption cases.

During his week-long stay in the British capital, Shahbaz held meetings with Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leaders and overseas Pakistanis.

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif before returning to Pakistan had held a meeting with his close aides, including the younger Sharif and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan  Abbasi, to discuss party affairs, especially reports of rifts within its ranks and corruption cases he and members of his family are facing.

Before returning home Shahbaz Sharif had an exclusive meeting with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in London, who was also in the British capital for his address at the London School of Economics.
