APHC concerned over Kashmiri detainees’ plight in Tihar Jail

SRINAGAR Nov 28 (TNS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has expressed serious concern over the miserable plight of illegally detained Kashmiris lodged in Delhi’s infamous Tihar Jail.

The APHC in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “The woeful tale of miseries and torture of the Kashmiri prisoners in Tihar Jail is a serious concern for us as authorities in Tihar are unnecessarily harassing and thrashing detainees on one pretext or the other.”

Delhi High Court has directed the authorities of infamous Tihar Jail in occupied Kashmir to shift the beaten inmates by special police to all India Institute of Medical Sciences for special medical check-up.

At least 18 detainees lodged in high security places of Jail sustained severe injuries by authorities on the night of 21st of this month.

Many of the injured prisoners were Kashmiris.
