ISLAMABAD Nov 28 (TNS): Pakistan will continue to support global efforts to protect human health and environment by completely phasing out the use of Ozone-layer-depleting substances in the country.
According to an official of Ministry of the Climate Change, after successfully phasing out the first generation of Ozone Depleting Substances as a part of global efforts to mitigate climate change, Pakistan is now in the process of phasing out Hydro-Chloro-Fluoro-Carbons altogether.
He said Pakistan does not manufacture any of the Ozone Depleting Substances as it has a strict regulatory regime to check import of these substances with a system of licensing and quotas for import of Hydro-Chloro-Fluoro-Carbons in place.
