Govt implementing recommendations of FATA Reforms Committee

­ISLAMABAD Dec 09 (TNS): Minister for States and Frontier Regions Abdul Qadir Baloch has said that preparations for the merger of Federally Administrative Tribal Areas with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are on fast track.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad, he said the government is fully implementing all the recommendations made by the FATA Reforms Committee.

Abdul Qadir Baloch said the government is also committed to abolish the black law of Frontier Crimes Regulations of FATA on priority.

Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Sartaj Aziz on this occasion said three percent of Federal divisible pool would be set aside for FATA which amount to around 100 billion rupees per year.

He said that the government also plans to expand Levy force and give it the status of police on later stage
