Nation celebrates birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam today

In their separate messages President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi urge nation to unite for national progress and prosperity

ISLAMABAD Dec 25 (TNS): The nation is celebrating 142nd birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah today, with renewed commitment to work hard for realization of the ideals he envisioned for Pakistan.

It is a public holiday today and national flag is being hoisted at all public and private buildings.

The day dawned with Qur’an Khawani at the Quaid’s mausoleum in Karachi.

An impressive change of guard ceremony, in connection with the birth anniversary celebrations of Father of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah was held at the Mazar of Quaid-e-Azam  in Karachi on Monday morning  during which cadets of Pakistan Military Academy Kakul mounted the ceremonial guard duty.

Commandant Pakistan Military Academy Kakul, Major General Akhter Nawaz Satti, who was the chief guest on the occasion, inspected the parade.

He also visited the mazar, laid floral wreath and offered Fateha.

A number of events, including seminars, debates and exhibitions, are being planned both at official and civil society levels to highlight life, achievements and different aspects of the personality of the Quaid.

In their separate messages on the occasion of birth anniversary of Father of the Nation, President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi have urged the nation to get united for the noble cause of national progress and prosperity.

The President said the ideal way to pay tribute to the great Quaid is not to hesitate from any sacrifice for the development and prosperity of the motherland.

He said the relevance of Quaid’s teachings and thought is increasing with every passing day as he had given us the golden principles of unity, faith and discipline using his foresight and political acumen.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in his message said this day has a special significance for the whole nation because besides paying tributes to the great leader, it is a day to reiterate the resolve for reviving Quaid’s thoughts and move forward with his ideas.

He said on this day, the nation should retrospect how much we have succeeded in achieving the highest objectives set by our great Quaid for which the state of Pakistan was created.

Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair and Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah visited the Mazar of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to pay tribute to the father of the nation on the eve of his birth anniversary today.

They laid floral wreaths and offered fateha. They also recorded their impressions in the visitors’ book.

Later, talking to media at the Mazar, the Governor said that this free country is the a great favor of Quaid-e-Azam to this nation we must work for its development.

Talking to media Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said we must run this country according to the vision of father of the nation and follow his principles to make it a better country in the world.

Radio Pakistan is presenting special programs to celebrate the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

The News and Current Affairs Channel of Radio Pakistan will conduct special discussion programs and talk shows on the life and achievements of the Quaid.

Special promos and voice insertions of Quaid-e-Azam are being aired from the channel.

A special cake-cutting ceremony will be held at the National Broadcasting House Islamabad today to mark the occasion.

The News and Current Affairs Channel is also highlighting the achievements of the government in a host of fields.

The channel will also highlight the government initiatives for youth and general public.

All stations of Radio Pakistan will also broadcast special programmes to mark the birthday of Quaid-e-Azam.
