ISLAMABAD, June 23 (TNS): Chairman All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) and former President, General (Retd.) Pervez Musharraf has said that the present regime is taking the country to an unprecedented deterioration and it is utmost need to resist their designs or coming generation will bear the brunt.

In telephonic conversation with APML Secretary General (SG) Dr Muhammad Amjad , Pervez Musharraf said that in prevailing situation, establishment of like-minded political party’s alliance is necessary that will be announced very soon.

He informed that the APML has already started a dialogue process for the formation of an opposition political party’s alliance.

Amjad called on chairman Sunni Ittehad Council Sahibzada Hamid Raza and leader of Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen, Allama Nasir Shirazi at the residence of Raja Nasir Abbas.

During this meeting, a possible coalition of the major opposition political parties was discussed and it was agreed that the opposition political parties will jointly struggle for the solution of various problems facing this country.  Dr Amjad then informed Pervez Musharraf regarding the decisions taken in the meeting.

General Musharraf at that instance expressed his worries that the country has been destroyed economically. He said that Pakistan losing its friendly relations with other countries in the region and elsewhere in the world whereas this government has increased manifold number of enemies to the country.

All this a result of incompetent and ineligible political leadership of the country, General Musharraf said. This situation requires immediate attention and preventive measures or this could play havoc with the country overall. A political alliance of opposition parties is utmost necessary for this country to liberate from the stronghold of a ‘Mafia’.

It is to mention here that APML Chairman Syed Pervez Musharraf has tasked party’s secretary general Dr Amjad to discuss possible alliance with other like-minded political parties. Dr Amjad in this connection has held meetings with PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Quaid,Pakistan Awami Tehrik, Dr Tahirul Qadri, Chairman Sunni Ittehad Council Sahibzada Hamid Raza, MWM leader Allama Nasir Shirazi and leaders of Muttahida Quomi Movements. In meetings with these political parties, features of possible political alliance were discussed and the said parties agreed for the joint political struggle.
