London, Jan. 30 (TNS): As most talked about British royal wedding approaching, it seems like US president Donald Trump’s invitation got lost in the mail as according to him, he hasn’t received an invite to the nuptials, reported Vanity Fair.

Preparations for the next big royal wedding are in full swing. The venue has been finalised, arrangements made and invitations sent.

In an interview with Piers Morgan for ITV, Trump said that he has not been invited, at least, “not that he knows of.” When asked if he would want to go, he replied, “I want them to be happy. I really want them to be happy. They look like a lovely couple.”

In December, The Sun reported that Harry’s rapport with Trump’s predecessor, Barack Obama may cause issues for the wedding’s guest list. The British government was supposedly worried that an invitation to the Obama family would offend Trump, creating issues for any potential Brexit deal between the United States and Britain.

Markle has also been a rather vocal Trump critic in the past, calling him “divisive” during an interview on The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore in May 2016.
