LAHORE Feb 09 (TNS): Founder LPG Industries Association of Pakistan (LPG Chamber of Pakistan) and Chairman of LPG Distributors Association Pakistan, Irfan Khokhar says that LPG mafia have completed preparations to loot poor people of Pakistan using OGRA as front after using demand & supply gap as an excuse.
OGRA have just issued LPG Consumer Prices by only considering local LPG production. LPG mafia have used Govt. Organization to defame Govt. of Pakistan by failing LPG Policy 2016 and promises of LPG Price per KG of Rs. 75/-, LPG per Ton Production Price of Rs. 30,000/- & promise of domestic cylinder at Rs. 895/- which Ministry for Petroleum & Natural Resources tried to meet by providing minimum prices first time in the history of Pakistan for last 4 years. Now poor LPG consumers will have to get expensive LPG as well as expensive Petrol/Diesel.
LPG Importers after consultation with LPG Chamber of Pakistan have given up the will to further import of LPG. As of now, LPG import has totally been stopped. LPG Marketing Companies have condemned the unethical Signature & Premium Bonus on LPG. Regulatory Duty is also a big factor in expensive LPG Prices. 5.5% Advance Tax and R&D on Imported LPG is also costing millions of rupees to LPG importers. Irfan Khokhar said “We fear, we will have to see biggest LPG crisis in the history of Pakistan as if importers stop their operations”.
Due to notification of OGRA after decision from Ministry for Petroleum & Natural Resources, poor people of Pakistan are not only to feel the difficulty but LPG Marketing Companies are as well feeling the same. Only 30 (20%) LPG Marketing Companies have local LPG Quota while other 114 (80%) out of 144 totally depends on Imported LPG. All LPG Marketing companies other than Local LPG Quota Holders are striving for business. Monthly 40% to 50% imported LPG is required to fill the demand & supply gap.
To end unethical Signature & Premium Bonus, LPG Marketing Companies will pass a resolution in 3rd International LPG Conference 2018 in Lahore on March 11th, 2018. LPG Industries Association of Pakistan (LPG Chamber of Pakistan) have sent invitation to Prime Minister of Pakistan to preside as Chief Guest of the conference. Irfan Khokhar have also written letter & requested Prime Minister of Pakistan to review the notification in favor of poor LPG Consumers of Pakistan.
