Muzammil Murtaza, Mahin Aftab won Chairman JCSC Open Tennis Championships

Islamabad March 12 (TNS): Muzammil Murtaza and Mahin Aftab won man and woman titles of 1st Chairman JCSC Open Tennis Championships which culminated at PTF Complex, Islamabad.

Finals of Men’s Singles and Ladies Singles categories were played on the final day of the championships. The event was jointly organized by JS Headquarters, Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Tennis Federation.

Chairman JCSC General Zubair Mahmood Hayat NI (M) was the chief guest on the occasion. Besides the chief guest, the men’s singles final was witnessed by Vice Chief of Air Staff Air Marhsal Farooq Habib, DG JS Headquarters Lt. General Zafar Iqbal, President PTF Salim Saifullah Khan, high ranking officers (serving & retired) from the armed forces, PTF officials and the general public.

In the Men’s singles final, top seed M. Abid was beaten by Muzammil Murtaza, who bagged his first national title in an excellent display of tennis.

In the ladies final Mahin Aftab bagged the title after comfortably beating top seed Sara Mansoor who was not at her best.

The Chairman JCSC, Vice Chief of Air staff, President PTF and Begum Chairman JCSC distributed the shields among the players.

Men’s Singles Final:

Muzammil Mutaza beat M. Abid: 7-5, 6-4;

Ladies Singles Final:

Mahin Aftab beat Sara Mansoor: 6-3, 6-4;

President PTF, Salim Saifullah Khan thanked the chief Guest and other senior Officers of the Armed Forces for gracing the occasion as well extending support and cooperation to promote the game of tennis in the country.
