KARACHI Mar 17 (TNS): Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani said on Saturday said that a senator with majority number of votes will get the slot of opposition leader in the Upper House of Parliamanet.
Talking to the media after paying a visit to Quaid-e-Azam Qauid’s mausoleum, he said that he becmae the Senate chairman with six extra votes and the majority of members supported the opposition candidates.

The Senate chairman thanked Asif Zardari, Bilawal Bhutto and Imran Khan for their cooperation in Senate elections.
Answering a question, the Senate chief said that did not know why National Party chief Hasil Bizenjo was furious against him and delivered a hard-hitting speech in the parliament after he was elected as the Senate chief.
Sanjrani said that he will take forward the legacy of former Senate chairman Mian Raza Rabbani. “Constitutional powers will be utilised efficiently. All the provinces have equal representation in Senate. We will try to work in the best manner,” he said.
Sanjrani said that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif could say anything against him as he was his elder.
“We will try to bring the separatists in the national fold. Balochistan has improved a lot. The problems of disgruntled Baloch have been solved to a great extent. The other estranged Baloch will soon become part of the national mainstream,” he said.
