ISLAMABAD March 26 (TNS): Former senator and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Nehal Hashmi on Monday sought mercy in the contempt of court case during his appearance before the Supreme Court bench.

At the start of the hearing, a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar ran a video clip of Hashmi, containing his vitriolic remarks against judges and the judiciary. The former senator after hearing the video clip sought pardon but the chief justice took him to task saying he (Justice Nisar) would have been ashamed if he were in his place and Hashmi did not deserve leniency.
