Quetta April 7 (TNS): Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said on Saturday that the people will vote the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz to power again owing to its ‘exceptional’ performance in the last five years.

After performing the groundbreaking of the Yakmach Kharan road, the premier said that the PML-N under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif will retain power in the upcoming general election.

He said that PML-N has always done politics on the basis of principles. The people of Pakistan will discard the ideology of curse and abuses in politics in July elections, he said while referring to PTI chief Imran Khan.

“We have always served the people instead of cursing others and the people of Pakistan will vote the oned who have served the public not the ones who curse others,” he said.

During his speech, he also discussed the Afghan conundrum and said that the war which has been fought there for the last 40 years must end as it had brought nothing but miseries to the people.

The prime minister said that war was not the solution to Afghanistan’s problems and issues could only be resolved through reconciliation and talks.

He also said that no other country was so curious about peace in Afghanistan than Pakistan and “we are the true neighbours of Afghans”.

Abbasi explained the recent amnesty scheme and said that it has been introduced so that the elite pays the taxes as much as the income they earn.

“It has been introduced to facilitate and give relief to the poor people. I question the opposition and the critics of this scheme, if they pay the taxes,” he asked.

He said that taxes have been brought down to half so that more and more people could be brought to the tax net.
