Islamabad April 11 (TNS): The National Accountability Bureau has recovered Rs 296 billion since its inception, a meeting chaired by NAB Chairman Justice Javed Iqbal was told on Wednesday.
The meeting was told that the NAB received a total of 367,742 complaints and of them, 365,374 were disposed of. The NAB also sanctioned 12,702 complaints for review and of them, 12189 cases were disposed of under the law.
The meeting was also told that the NAB also allowed 8,084 inquiries and of them, 7,425 were disposed of. The NAB also approved 4,001 investigations and of them, 3,705 investigations were disposed of. The NAB also disposed of 2,049 references.
The NAB chief urged the officials to carry out all inspections, inquiries and investigations on time in accordance with the law.
He also said that accountability courts will be requested to adjudicate 1,200 references expeditiously as cases worth Rs970 billion were pending against the corrupt.
The NAB chairman urged the officials to perform their duty with honesty and on merit.
