Peshawar April 20 (TNS): Chief Justice Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Friday directed the health authorities for closing down all clinics being run by quacks and fake doctors across Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa within a week’s time.
Hearing a case at the Supreme Court Registry Peshawar regarding the popping up of clinics managed by quacks, the chief justice said that the fake doctors were playing with lives of masses while the health authorities have turned a deaf ear to the issue.
The chief justice was informed by chairman Healthcare Commission that 15,000 quacks were working across the province and action had been taken against 122 fake doctors and quacks.
Meanwhile, KP Police Inspector General Salahuddin Mehsud told the bench that 1769 police personnel who had been deployed as gunmen have been withdrawn. To this, the chief justice praised the police chief and said if he had to salute, he would have saluted the IG.
