Saarbrücken, April 24 (TNS): A Pakistani teenager died after being beaten up and thrown into a canal by a group of German boys in Saarbrücken.

According to details, in broad daylight, a quarrel among young people broke out on the banks of the Saar canal. After torture, 16-year-old Pakistani boy was thrown by local boys in unconscious condition into the water.

As confirmed by the police Saarbrücken, the incident occurred on Monday afternoon on Saar canal bank below the Wilhelm Heinrich Bridge.

A group of German boys had clashed with the 16-year-old Pakistani and his Afghan companion. The following brawl was observed by several passersby. In the course of the confrontation, the teenager was thrown into the water who did not reappear due to unconsciousness.

After witnesses alerted the rescue services, the fire brigade arrived with 30 men, including 10 rescue divers and 4 swimming rescuers, who immediately set out with the help of a lifeboat in search of the teenager.

The helpers found his lifeless body. He probably had not gotten any air for between 15 and 30 minutes.

The teenager body was shifted to the hospital in Saarbrücken.

German police said that the event is not a tragic accident but a targeted act. The police arrested suspect and investigating an 18-year-old prime suspect who may have pushed the teenager into the water.

During the rescue operation, the man was handcuffed while sitting on the ground.

The Pakistani community in Saarbrücken has protested over the brutal incident.
