Real Madrid exploits Bayern, courtesy Asensio heroics

Munich, April 26 (TNS): Real Madrid took a crucial lead in the 1st leg of the Champions League semi-final on Saturday against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena. The Los Blancos overcame the Bavarians by 2-1 through second-half winner by Marco Asensio.

Real Madrid were without Welsh star Gareth Bale who was named at the bench against Bayern Munich. Whereas Bayern were depleted from Star players such as Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and left-back David Alaba.

Kimmich opened the scoring for German champions Bayern Munich early in the first half but his goal was cancelled out by clinical strikes from left-back Marcelo and forward Marco Asensio who came as a substitute in the second half.

Asensio’s 56th-minute strike gives Real Madrid a two away goal advantage in the semi-final tie of the Champions League, as the Los Blancos will face Bayern at home in the second leg now, next week.
