Islamabad May 2 (TNS): Chief justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar on Wednesday took Suo Motu notice over target killing of Hazara Community members in Quetta.
Justice Nisar sought a report from the Balochistan government, Levies, police and Interior Ministry on the matter.
While giving remarks CJP said killers of the community are wandering openly and holding rallies in the city while the community members do not get admissions in universities, cannot go to schools and hospitals.
Justice Nisar questioned that are they, not Pakistanis, adding that they have not submitted a request to the Supreme Court because they are scared.
CJP announced that he will hear the case on 11 May in Quetta registry.
Hazara community members had staged a protest in Alamadar Road Quetta for 4 days over four consecutive incidents of target killing in which at least six were killed while three others were injured.
According to Human rights commission of Pakistan, at least 500 Hazara community members have been killed in blasts and target killing incidents.
The community has called off Sit-in after a successful meeting of the representatives of the community with Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Tuesday night.
COAS assured Hazara community brethren that those who had targeted them would suffer twice as much.
