Islamabad, May 5 (TNS): Pakistan Meteorological Department on Saturday said that there is a high probability that the Ramazan moon will be sighted on May 16.
A PMD official, said there are fair chances that the holy month of Ramzan will commence from May 17 in the country.
“High chances that Muslims in Pakistan will observe their first fast from on May 17,” (Thursday), the official said.

The official also explained that the prediction was solely based on scientific calculations.
According to the Climate Data Processing Centre (CDP) of PMD the new moon of Ramazan, 1439 AH will be born on crossing conjunction point at 16:49 PST on May 16.
Elsewhere, the central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is most likely to meet at the dusk of May 16 for sighting the moon of the holy month.
