ISLAMABAD, May 15 (TNS) National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW) would soon announce its first NCSW Literary Award 2018 for young women writers to encourage them for promoting women’s rights through creative writings.
Two Awards will be given to the best submissions, one in Urdu Language and the other one in a provincial language of Pakistan.
The decision for the Award will be made by a Selection Committee appointed by NCSW. The decision of the Committee will be considered as final. Winner will get a monetary prize and their work will be published by NCSW.
An official said that a large number of women from across Pakistan submitted works of fiction in the form of a collection of short stories and novel. Only unpublished original work will be accepted.
She said that the NCSW is a statutory body to combat discrimination against women with the objective of promoting social, economic, political and legal rights of women as guaranteed in the constitution of Pakistan and in accordance with its international commitments.
