Nasir Jamshed set to respond to corruption charges alleged by PCB

Lahore, May 15 (TNS): Former Test Cricketer and Pakistan opener Nasir Jamshed has decided to respond to the corruption charges alleged by the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Jamshed will respond to all the charges and submit the answers to the queries by PCB on May 18, on the same day the anti-corruption tribunal meeting will take place.

The charges that the PCB has brought against him will be answered by Jamshed through his lawyer, who will contest his case.

The PCB has issued a notice of Charge to Jamshed in February, as the cricketer was one of the five players who came under the spotlight of the anti-corruption unit following the spot-fixing scandal in the PSL 2017.

Nasir Jamshed was handed a one year ban by the PCB after he refused to cooperate with PCB’s spot-fixing investigation.

According to PCB charges Jamshed has violated multiple articles including 2.1.1, 2.1.2, 2.1.3, 2.1.4 and 2.4.4 of the PCB’s Anti-Corruption Code for Participants.

Khalid Latif, Sharjeel Khan, Mohammad Irfan and Mohammad Nawaz were the four other cricketers who were handed subsequent bans in the second edition of PSL.
