Tel Aviv, May 17 (TNS): Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s son posted a controversial picture on his Instagram account to abuse Turkey after its President Recep Tayyip Erdogan slammed Israel for the killings in recent Gaza protest.

As reported by the Sputnik agency on Thursday, Yair Netanyahu took to his Instagram account to post a controversial picture depicting a morphed Turkish national flag.

This came after a diplomatic row between Turkey and Israel broke out following the clashes on Monday wherein over 60 Palestinian protesters were killed by the Israeli forces on the Gaza Strip.

They were there to take part in the Great March of Return and condemn the inauguration of the US embassy in Jerusalem.

The social media users immediately re-tweeted the picture as some of them criticised Yair for his comments. The original post, however, was withdrawn later.

On Tuesday, Turkey expelled Israel’s ambassador Eitan Naeh from the country.

Reportedly, he was subjected to a “humiliating” security check at Istanbul airport.

The Turkish and Israeli Prime Ministers exchanged jibes as Erdogan called Benjamin Netanyahu “the PM of an apartheid state” who “has the blood of Palestinians on his hands”.

On the other hand, South Africa recalled its ambassadors from Israel while Ireland, Belgium, and Luxembourg summoned their Israeli envoys to express their frustration and protest against the Gaza issue.
