ISIS threatens to behead Messi and Ronaldo, ahead of World Cup in Russia

Islamabad, May 17 (TNS): ISIS has threatened to behead star footballers Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo at the World Cup in Russia.

The Islamic extremists have already made several threats about the tournament, which kicks off next month, but the latest propaganda is the sickest so far.

The Islamic State is increasing its calls for ‘lone attackers’ to strike as the terror group loses ground in Syria and Iraq.

Barcelona star Messi has been pictured as part of ISIS threats before but now terrorists have vowed to behead the record goal-scorer.

Both he and Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo – the two best footballers in the world – is seen pinned to the ground with their heads being hacked off in a packed football stadium by masked jihadi fighters.

Captioned “Your blood will fill the ground”, the poster shows two terrorists in balaclavas and grey jumpsuits crouched over them, slicing their heads off.

This latest threat was revealed by cyber intelligence firm Sixgill, which monitors ISIS chatter and probes the Dark Web.

The much-anticipated tournament kicks off under a month on June 14.

The latest twisted propaganda comes after murderous ‘suicide families’ blew themselves up in Indonesia in the last week.

ISIS claimed responsibility after two girls aged nine and 12 were among a family-of-six who killed 14 people, including children, in blasts on three Christian churches in Surabaya on Sunday.

Local media reports say the father dropped his two daughters and wife – wearing a suicide belt – at the church only minutes earlier before they blew themselves up.

And in yet another suicide attack carried out by a family-of-five, including a girl aged eight, a police station in Indonesia’s second-largest city was targeted on Monday.

Tens of thousands of England fans are expected to base themselves in St Petersburg for the month-long finals.

Russia’s second largest city was the scene of a horrific ISIS attack when a briefcase bomb detonated on the underground in April, killing 14 people.

The blast was in retaliation to Russia’s airstrikes in Syria that have helped bring the regime to its knees.

Thousands of Russians from mainly central Asia have travelled to the Middle East to fight for ISIS.

Experts in Moscow believe around 2,400 joined the regime in 2015 alone.
