London, May 24 (TNS): In the first test at Lord’s, between Pakistan and England on Monday, English skipper Joe Root won the toss and elected to bat first.

The last time the two sides met at Lord’s they were fighting for top place in Tests in the rankings, now England and Pakistan are stranded at a lowly 5th and 7th place respectively.

It’s been 22 years since, Pakistan won a test series in England in 1996, in which Pakistan triumphed England 2-0.

Sarfraz and company will look to overthrow England and repeat history this summer as they take on their English counterparts in a two test series.
