Purpose of Afghan NSA’s visit was to show Solidarity with Pakistani officials: says Afghan official

KABUL, May 28 (TNS): The purpose of Afghan National Security Adviser, Haneef Atmar’s visit to Islamabad was to discuss the implementation of the Afghanistan-Pakistan Action Plan for Peace and Solidarity with the Pakistani officials, said Afghan media quoting an official from Afghan Security Council office reported here on Monday.

Afghan government calls the action plan “important”, frequently emphasizing on its implementation by Pakistani side.

“This is the third time that senior officials from the two countries are discussing the implementation of the action plan, security challenges in Afghanistan, Pakistan and the region,” said the Security Council Spokesman, Qader Shah on Sunday.

He added that Atmar was not scheduled to meet Pakistani political leaders.
