Kabul, May 30 (TNS): Haneef Atmar Afghan President Ashraf Ghani’s National Security Advisor welcomed Indian Deputy National Security Advisor Rajinder Khanna to Kabul on Wednesday morning.
Both sides will hold security meetings over the situation in Afghanistan, Atmar’s office confirmed.
“A joint security committee meeting between Afghanistan and India kicked off. At the outset, the @NSAAtmar has presented information about general security situation of Afghanistan,” Atmar tweeted.
However, his office did not provide further details about the trip.
Khanna’s trip comes after Atmar, along with an Afghan delegation, visited Pakistan on Monday. Together Kabul and Islamabad vowed to get peace talks back on truck.
Afghan officials said the two countries also agreed to take specific steps regarding the implementation of the action plan for peace and for reducing the scale of threats.
