Ronaldinho-led footballers arrive in Pakistan

Islamabad July 8 (TNS): Eight top footballers from around the world led by Brazilian legend Ronaldinho arrived in Pakistan on Saturday to play two exhibition matches.

On arrival, the footballers were escorted to Islamabad under a tight security of army personnel. The players will flew to Karachi to play the first exhibition match later on Saturday.

The other international players include Roberto Carlos, Ryan Gigss, David James (UK), George Boateng (Holland), Robert Perez (Brazil), Luís Boa Morte (Portugal) and Nicolas Anelka (France).

Ronaldinho will lead the team which will play two exhibition matches during the visit to Pakistan.

The first match will be played on Saturday (July 8) at the Hockey Club of Pakistan in Karachi and the second match will be played on Sunday (July 9) in Lahore.

The two matches have been arranged Leisure Leagues. The World Group is the company behind UK-based Leisure Leagues coming to Pakistan in the first place.

World Group Chief Operating Officer Ishaq Shah said the national champions of the Leisure Leagues will get the unique chance of playing alongside these players said.  He said that each team will have a maximum of 10 players, with seven playing and three subs, so as many as 12 local players will rub shoulders with these eight legends of the beautiful game.
