Islamabad, July 17 (TNS): NAB Court Judge Muhammad Bashir on Tuesday excused himself from hearing references against Nawaz Sharif and his family.

In a letter to Islamabad High Court, he said that after giving verdict of the Avenfield Reference, he cannot further hear the other two references Al-Azizia Steel Mills and Flagship Investment Limited.

He appealed the court that the two references may be transferred to another court for further hearing.

Earlier, through his counsel Khawaja Haris, Nawaz filed an application seeking the transfer of the trial of Al-Azizia and Flagship references to another accountability court. Haris argued before the court that as the evidence in both the references was similar to the Avenfield case, the judgment may be the same if heard by the same judge.
