Rescue 1122 observes international youth day

Rawalpindi, Aug. 12 (TNS): In connection with Independence-Day, Rescue 1122 observe international youth day during weeklong celebrations of Freedom.

The Director General Punjab Emergency Service Dr Rizwan Naseer, SI directed all District Emergency Officers (DEOs) on International Youth Day to motivate youth to be a part of the Service as Rescue Scouts and engage them in Community Safety activities for establishment of healthy, safe and resilient communities in Pakistan.

He emphasized DEOs to provide Rescue platform to the youth under community safety program for youth involvement for safety of youth and public at large, as youth have the potential to bring change and promote safety in their respective communities.

In this regard, a ceremony was also held at Emergency Services Headquarters here on Saturday to motivate Rescue officers, officials and under training cadet to work for safe spaces for youth by establishing Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) in all union councils of their respective districts. Recue officers of Headquarters & Academy, instructors, rescuers, rescue cadets and volunteers participated in the event.

 

On this occasion, under training rescuers from all over Punjab participated in different activities which included speeches on the topic “What you can do for Pakistan?” and national songs competition to express their solidarity with mother land and youth enthusiasm for developing  safer country .
