Lahore,August 26 (TNS): The renowned lawyer and father of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Asif Kirmani passed away on Sunday at the age of 95 after a longstanding illness.

He played a vital role in the Pakistan Movement in the 1940s and was one of the leading companions of Quad-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in the cause.
His son Asif Kirmani confirmed the death of his father in a media statement.
Ahmad Saeed Kirmani took the charge of the Pakistan Muslim League in the 1960s as President of the party.
Later in 1980s he opted to join PML-N, under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif when the party split into two parts, the other famously known as Pakistan Muslim League Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q)
The Pakistan Movement’s freedom fighter became a lawyer of the Supreme Court of Pakistan in 1957 and served there till his retirement.
