Islamabad, August 28 (TNS): Pakistan government has not yet decided to approach International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a bailout package to take the country out of the economic crisis confirmed Federal Finance Minister Asad Omer on Tuesday.
During his speech in the senate, Asad Umar told that final decision will be taken after taking the Parliament, both the Senate and National Assembly, on the same page.
He added the consultation on economic situation is being carried out with experts related to the economic field.
Pertaining to the National Finance Commission Award, Asad Umar said it is a constitutional obligation and on the first day in his office, he directed the finance secretary to initiate the process for the new NFC Award.
The Finance Minister said it will be his utmost priority to announce new NFC Award as early as possible.
Earlier, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi announced to hold consultation with Senate regarding formulation of Pakistan’s foreign policy.
He said that all parties have same stance over national interest and that he will try to convey parliament’s message to United States.
