KARACHI, Sept. 2 (TNS): In a bizarre move, Pakistan Peoples Party leader Sharjeel Inam Memon has been given a clean chit in the FIR registered 11 hours after alcohol bottles were found in room of the hospital where he was under treatment.
According to the FIR, not only Memon but the police officers on duty at the hospital have also been declared innocent, while charges were placed on one of the men who was arrested from the PPP leader’s room.
Moreover, the case has been filed under the name of Assistant Superintendent Mujahid Khan, who happens to be the officer on duty during the CJP’s surprise visit to the hospital.
A day earlier, Justice Nisar paid a surprise visit to the hospitals in Karachi where high-profile political prisoners were under treatment. On his visit to the hospital in Clifton, where Sharjeel Memon was under treatment, the CJP found alcohol bottles, drugs and cigarettes.
