Five MCHs to be set up in Punjab

Lahore, Nov 14 (TNS): Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has announced to set up five Mother and Child Hospitals (MCHs) in less developed districts of the province.

Chairing a meeting of health department in Lahore on Wednesday, she said these hospitals will be set up in Layyah, Bahawalnagar, Mianwali, Rajanpur, and Attock districts.

Dr Yasmin Rashid said it is for the first time that hospitals are being established in country’s history exclusively for mother and child healthcare.

The Minister said mortality rate of women and children in Pakistan is very high and establishment of such hospitals is high in Prime Minister’s agenda.
