Govt committed to ensure timely completion of all ongoing projects: Planning Minister

Islamabad, Feb. 23 (TNS): Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms, Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar says quarterly reviews of the Five Year Plan will be conducted for its effective implementation in achieving all the set targets.

He was chairing a briefing to Economic Advisory Council on the draft of the 12th Five Year Plan in Islamabad today (Friday). 

The Minister said priority will be given to projects related to infrastructure development, transport, housing, communication, energy and water sector in the plan.

He said the development strategy also entails boosting the country’s exports as well as monitoring the progress of ongoing projects.

Khusro Bakhtiar said the government is committed to ensure timely completion of all ongoing projects without any cost increase.

The proposed plan envisages an average GDP growth at five point four percent.

The expected outlay of the Plan will be Eleven point seven five zero trillion rupees including one trillion rupees involving innovative financing through public-private partnership.
