RAWALPINDI, July 23 (TNS): Nawaz Sharif has decided to bring in a new prime minister anticipating his disqualification by the Supreme Court in the Panama Papers case, Awami Muslim League Chief Sheikh Rasheed said here on Sunday. He was speaking to media at his residence.

He predicted there will be a good number of defections from the PML-N the moment the Supreme Court sends Nawaz Sharif packing. PM will be shown the exit door next week and therefore, he was mulling over the names of his aides for premiership. Around 40 MNAs were ready to ditch Sharif to rejoin the party of former president retired General Pervez Musharraf.

He said that if Defense Minister Khawaja Asif is selected, it would widen rift within the party as Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif were not happy with his nomination as the new premier. He added that if National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq is elected, another Prime Minister House will be set up in Lahore which Sharifs won’t tolerate.
