Islamabad: June 18, 2021 (TNS): Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi held a meeting with Chairman of Afghanistan’s High Council for National Reconciliation Abdullah Abdullah on the sidelines of Antalya Diplomatic Forum in Turkey today (Friday).
The Foreign Minister stressed on making intra-Afghan talks successful to retreat peace spoilers.
He said Pakistan looks forward to working closely with all Afghan leaders to ensure that the Afghan peace process and bilateral relations move forward smoothly.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said with its sincere reconciliation efforts, Pakistan has succeeded in bringing the US and the Taliban to the negotiating table and holding intra-Afghan talks.
He said now it’s the responsibility of the Afghan leadership to seize this rare opportunity and find a political solution to the Afghan problem through comprehensive dialogue.
