Arif Alvi says the government has initiated a number of development projects in different sectors in the newly merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Talking to a delegation of Khyber Chamber of Commerce and Industry, led by its President Syed Hassan Ali Shah in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said people of the area will benefit from these projects.
The President said business community is playing a great role in the socio-economic development of the country, and serious efforts are being made to facilitate and support the business community.
He said a peaceful Afghanistan would help bring economic prosperity not only for Afghanistan but also for its neighbouring countries.
He said the border districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, particularly the Khyber district, could benefit enormously from trade and commercial opportunities with Afghanistan.
