KABUL, July 26 (TNS): Afghan officials say that Taliban insurgents stormed the Kandahar ANA base on Tuesday night, killing up to 40 soldiers.
An Afghan TV said a source on condition of anonymity on Wednesday told it that Taliban killed at least 40 soldiers after storming a base in Kandahar province.
According to the source the Taliban attacked a security base in Khakrez district of the province and clashes lasted for five hours.
Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
