Ex-auditor general of Pakistan in FIA custody

ISLAMABAD JULY 31 (TNS): Akhtar Buland Rana, the former auditor general of Pakistan was taken into custody by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Monday after Senior Civil Judge Shabbar Bhatti sentenced Rana six months imprisonment for concealing his Canadian citizenship.

An FIR had been registered against Rana earlier on the complaint of the FIA for not declaring his Canadian passport.

Rana was sacked in May 2015 after the Supreme Judicial Council found him guilty of misconduct, according to reports.
