ISLAMABAD Aug. 4 (TNS): The business community of Pakistan has welcomed the nomination of Shahbaz Sharif as the Prime Minister of Pakistan saying they are sure he will continue to push the developmental agenda of the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and try his best to improve the country’s economy.
Affirming their belief in the PML-N and Shehbaz Sharif, they said that Shehbaz Sharif like his brother Nawaz Sharif possesses business acumen and will certainly take the country to new heights of economic progress.
Quoting growing Pak-China ties, and initiation of CPEC as their biggest achievement, they said that the PML-N under the leadership of Shehbaz Sharif would transform Pakistan into an Asian tiger. The CPEC has already given prominence to Pakistan on the world’s economic map, which has resulted in sleepless nights for the enemies of Pakistan, they added.
They also remarked that following the Supreme Court’s verdict, the PML-N has demonstrated exceptional restraint and political maturity which has sent a very positive message. Business community hopes that all the parties including the ruling party will always keep the national interests supreme.
Counting the PML-N government successes, the business community said the LNG import resulted in greater economic, enhancing revenue and reducing unemployment while dozens of power projects are going to put an end to load shedding soon.
Moreover, dozens of international institutions have lauded economic policies of Nawaz and Sehbaz administration, terrorism was contained while Karachi was made a peaceful city, they added.
“The PML-N has always been committed to pro-growth policies that preserve Pakistan’s global competitiveness and is opposed to policies that reduce businesses’ ability to grow, invest, and create jobs,” they said adding its central goal has been building up the middle class by making sure all residents have rising household income.
“Its priorities have been increasing education attainment, crafting place-making policies that attract young talent and expanding the social safety net to help people who aren’t sharing in new high-wage prosperity of the country,” they commented.
“We believe that Shehbaz Sharif will continue in the footsteps of Nawaz Sharif by following policies that will lead towards higher economic achievements, bigger investment, and improved growth,” they concluded.
