The latest comparative data for 2024 and 2025 shows a dramatic decline in crime across Khanewal, making it one of the most secure and efficiently managed districts in Punjab. The credit goes to District Police Officer (DPO) Ismail Kharrak, whose professional command, real-time monitoring, and field-oriented strategy have reshaped district policing into a data-backed success model.

According to the report, 32 major drug networks were dismantled in 2025 and 766.683 kilograms of narcotics recovered — a sharp rise in performance compared to 2024. The crackdown targeted large-scale suppliers responsible for pushing drugs into youth circles, achieving a 65% increase in anti-narcotics success within a single year.

In the fight against organized crime, 106 gangs were busted in 2025, with Rs. 151.9 million worth of stolen property recovered. This marks a 16% increase from 2024, when 97 gangs were neutralized and Rs. 131 million recovered. The success is attributed to DPO Kharrak’s “Smart Policing and Hotspot Mapping” initiative, which restricted criminal mobility and strengthened field surveillance.

The comparative analysis further reveals a province-leading reduction in violent and property crimes:

Murder cases: 98 (2024) → 78 (2025) — 20% decrease

Blind murders: down 67% due to forensic and IT-based investigation

Rape with murder: 2 → 1 — 50% reduction

Dacoity cases: 35 → 10 — 71% decline

Robberies: 1,157 → 585 — 49% decrease

Vehicle theft: 1,204 → 944 — 22% reduction

During these operations, police also recovered 110 pistols, 20 rifles, and 27 shotguns, along with 27 tolas of gold, 7 cars, 167 motorcycles, 156 livestock animals, and 232 mobile phones, which were promptly returned to rightful owners — reinforcing public trust and transparency.

In line with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s Safe Punjab Vision, DPO Kharrak maintained a zero-tolerance policy against gender-based violence. Immediate FIR registration, prompt investigation, and rapid arrest of suspects were ensured. Multiple offenders were apprehended within hours, leading to a marked decline in crimes against women and children.

The district’s proactive approach has not only reduced crime but also restored citizens’ confidence in law enforcement. Senior officials have termed Khanewal’s policing system as “a provincial benchmark in performance management and operational integrity.”

The 2024–2025 crime data confirms that under DPO Ismail Kharrak’s visionary command, Khanewal Police has transformed from a routine enforcement unit into a modern, accountable, and community-focused force — setting new standards for policing excellence across Punjab.
