KARACHI (TNS) Karachi Chairman of Manghopir Town, Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi, conducted a detailed inspection today following the completion of the first phase of the road carpeting project from 4K to Abdullah Mor. This important development project is being executed through a private partnership under modern engineering standards, with the primary objective of providing the residents of Manghopir with durable, high-quality, safe, and improved travel facilities. The Chairman personally examined the carpeting process, sub-base, bitumen quality, layer thickness, road compaction, and the overall material quality, and received a technical briefing from engineers and contractors on-site.

Speaking to media representatives after the inspection, Chairman Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi said that the development of Manghopir Town is not based on mere claims but on consistent and visible practical steps. He stated:
“We personally monitor every development project in our town. Just as I physically checked the material today, each phase of this project will undergo the same level of strict scrutiny and approval. The purpose of building this road is not only to lay asphalt but to ensure a route that remains strong, safe, and usable for years. Our children, elders, women, and youth travel through these routes daily; therefore, substandard work is absolutely unacceptable.”

He added that strict quality control, material testing, and field inspections are mandatory for every project. He clarified that approval will only be granted once a project meets all technical standards, ensuring the end of frequent breakage and repeated repairs. He also urged citizens to participate in monitoring the work and immediately report any deficiency or deviation from standards to the relevant authorities.

Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi announced that with the first phase successfully completed, the second phase of the project will commence tomorrow, and the entire route will be opened to the public within a few weeks. He said the project will significantly improve regional traffic flow, reduce travel time, and boost local businesses—ultimately strengthening the area’s economy.

The Chairman further stated that the ongoing development activities in Manghopir Town are part of a larger strategic plan aimed at enhancing residents’ quality of life, organizing the traffic system, and promoting public safety. He expressed gratitude to the concerned departments, engineering teams, and private partners ensuring that the work progresses within technical standards and scheduled timeframes.

During the visit, Vice Chairman Rana Muhammad Arif, UC Chairman Qadir Brohi, various Union Committee chairmen and vice chairmen, local dignitaries, town officers, engineers, and media representatives accompanied the Chairman. All participants appreciated the Chairman’s personal supervision, focus on quality, and the pace of development works. Local residents and public representatives also welcomed the initiative and expressed hope that with the same dedication and continuity, Manghopir will soon emerge as one of the city’s well-developed and model towns.

The Chairman reassured journalists and residents that his vision of making Manghopir a model town will be achieved through the same principles of transparency, quality, and service. In his words:I promise that I will transform Manghopir Town into Karachi’s exemplary model town. I will not rest until the required standards and facilities are established. This is both my duty and my responsibility. Moreover, the Town Administration announced that public consultation meetings will be held in the near future to ensure transparency and community involvement. These meetings will present progress updates, quality control reports, and upcoming schedules before the residents. This step will not only enhance transparency but also allow timely improvements based on public feedback.
