Civil, military leadership vow to purge country of extremism

RAWALPINDI Sept 19 (TNS): The civil military leadership has expressed the resolve to continue struggle against the menace of violent extremism.

The resolve was made during a meeting of a delegation comprising members of Defence Committees of the Senate and National Assembly with military leadership during a visit to GHQ on Monday.

The delegation laid floral wreath at GHQ’s Shuhada Monument and was given a detailed briefing on evolving security environment including situation on the borders and Pakistan’s Army efforts for peace and security.

The delegation also had an interactive session with Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

Both civil and military leadership were unanimous on holding such like interactive sessions in the highest national interest for developing the policies and strategies to strengthen all institutions in the country.
