Rahim Yar Khan, Oct. 7 (TNS): A mega scandal of nepotism, misconduct and abuse of power surfaced in Shaikh Zayed Medical College and Hospital (SZMCH), Rahim Yar Khan where top management recruited staff by violating rules and regulations.

According to details, Principal SZMCH Dr. Mubarak and MS Dr. Ghulam Rabbani made recruitments on various vacant posts bypassing all rules and regulations, TNS has learnt.

SZMCH advertised vacant posts in SZMCH on June 06, 2017 which was extended twice till July 14, 2017 and July 28, 2017.

Around 40,000 applications, with fee Rs. 100 each, were received for vacant posts till last date; however, on direction of Principal Dr. Mubarak, MS Dr. Ghulam Rabbani issued appointment letters to their ‘blue-eyed’ candidates against heavy kickbacks and recommendations of influential people.

Interestingly, these appointments were made on July 17 and July 19 prior to last date of submission of applications.

Affected applicants moved the court against these illegal appointments and also filed complaints to NAB and FIA.

The petitioners stated that these appointments were made putting all rules and regulations aside.

They accused that the recruitments were against merit and rewarded to “blue-eyed” persons on base of favoritism and heavy bribe.

The affected candidates requested Chief Minister Punjab, Health Minister and other higher authorities to take notice of this misconduct.

They also demanded authorities to register case against Dr. Mubarak and Dr. Ghulam Rabbani for abusing their power.

When TNS contacted Principal SZMCH Dr. Mubarak to know his point of view, the Principal said that he did not violate any rule as he has power to appoint anybody even before last date of applications submission.
